There are 4, 1 hour sessions for a maximum of 10 people per session.

The Vice President of Western Sea Kayakers reached out to me about doing a demo day for local sea kayakers so they could all see what’s current and what’s being used in the field.

So we ran with it! 🏃‍♂️

We assembled a team of industry professionals and brand representatives to create the inaugural “Half Moon Bay Demo Day” 🥰👏🏼
.
Hosted by Half Moon Bay Kayak Company with special guests Dan Arbuckle with Headwaters Kayak and Werner Team member and Level Six ambassador Nick Butterfield.
Also confirmed is an appearance by local NDK rep Paula Scotney-Castle.

There will also be representatives of the two largest Sea Kayak clubs in the Bay Area-
Western Sea Kayakers (WSK) and Bay Area Sea Kayakers (BASK) there for paddling advice and club membership inquiries! 🫂

It’s basically one big Sea Kayak industry product party and paddle! 🪅

If you are interested in a demo you will choose a sign up slot. 
There will be a max of 10 people per time slot and you will receive the attention of myself and our special guests for that hour to discuss,try and hopefully fall in love and purchase these products. 😅❤️

We welcome the general public and anyone interested in Sea Kayaking to come out and enjoy the day also. 
HMB Kayak Co. will be open and staffed for rentals and those can be secured on our website.

Experience:    Demo kayaks are performance sit in kayaks,  prior kayaking experience is required.   (If you have not kayaked rent a sit on top instead and ask the demo team questions about the demo boats and sea kayaking in general)

Dress/gear:   

Bring you your own paddling clothing, gear, spray skirt,  and paddle so you can best evaluate demo kayaks.   Demo paddles will be available.    Renting a wetsuit/paddle jacket is also an option

Dress:

We provide wetsuits and waterproof paddle jackets for all classes, rentals, and tours. You bring sun block, sunglasses with retention strap, synthetic sweater, shoes that can get wet, and a hat. A change of dry clothes and a towel is recommended in case you get wet during the trip.

HMB Kayak Co. Cancellation Policy

Weather & Participation

All HMB Kayak Co. events are subject to cancellation due to unsafe weather conditions or low turnout. If HMB Kayak Co. cancels at any time, you may reschedule at no charge or receive a full refund. NO refunds will be given after a service has been performed.

Rentals

Cancellations for all rentals (bike, kayak, and SUPs) must be made at least 24 hours in advance of the scheduled booking time. Any bookings missed or cancelled less than 24 hours in advance will be charged the full amount, with no refunds issued.

Custom Trips & Corporate Events

For custom trips and corporate events, cancellations made 7 or more days in advance will receive a full refund or be rescheduled at no additional charge. Cancellations or rescheduling requests made less than 7 days before the event will result in the forfeiture of your deposit. HMB Kayak Co. will allow a one-time rescheduling request, which must be submitted at least 48 hours prior to the event date and will incur a fee of $25 per person. This option allows you to reschedule your event once within the same calendar year. No-shows are not eligible for any refunds or credit.
